Multinational Corporates Coverage Japan

Reason to choose/join BNP Paribas

Strong network, diversified and integrated business model, and financial stability are among the criteria which influenced my decision to join BNP Paribas. After graduating, I joined the Group in Switzerland (my home country) and then moved to Japan two years later for personal reasons. I shortly rejoined the bank in Tokyo where I integrated the Operations team. As I was looking to develop my career in a client-orientated position, I then moved to Corporate Coverage, supporting Japanese corporates using the spectrum of the Group’s products and international network. I then decided to expose myself to more execution of transactions so that I joined the Transportation Structured Lease team where I gained a tremendous expertise in deal making. After those enriching experiences, I eventually came back to Coverage and this time heading the team of relationship managers in charge of our international clients in Japan.

Your job and source of motivation

The responsibility of the MNC department is to support the banks’ international clients in Japan by offering them the bank’s full range of products and services across transaction banking and global markets. Being a relationship manager requires a deep understanding of the client’s business and of the solutions we can bring to the customers. Our role is also to serve as intermediary between the client and the various departments of the banks so that it is also fundamentally important for us to maintain good relationship internally.

I enjoy this role as, among others, I can develop high-level commercial relationships with corporates, originate transactions and close deals by working closely with our clients and with internal teams across various departments.

What you do at your free time / Hobby

After work, I spend as much as possible time with my wife and my kids. We enjoy traveling and playing sports together. Before work, I hit the gym every morning as it gives me a strong sense of accomplishment and clear my thoughts before I start my day at work. This morning session helps me to concentrate on pushing the bar higher and higher.
